Tianyi Pavilion, located in Haishu District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, was built in the forty to forty-five years (1561-1566) of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty. 10,000 square meters, has a history of more than 400 years.
Tianyi Pavilion Library is a two-story brick-wood structure hard-mountain-style building with a height of 8.5 meters, sloping roof, covered with blue tiles. The first floor is wide and there are six deep rooms, and the second floor is a large room except for the staircase, separated by bookcases. In front of the pavilion, the "Tianyi Pond" Tongyue Lake is chiseled, and the garden adopts "Fu, Lu, and Longevity" as the overall shape, and the "Nine Lions and One Elephant" are piled up with rocks and other scenic spots. Tianyi Pavilion and its surrounding gardens have the characteristics of Jiangnan courtyard gardens. The book collection and architecture of Tianyi Pavilion provide physical materials for the study of calligraphy, local history, stone carvings, stone architecture and residential buildings in eastern Zhejiang. On February 23, 1982, Tianyi Pavilion was announced as the second batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. On October 29, 2018, Tianyi Pavilion·Yuehu Scenic Spot in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province was designated as a national 5A tourist attraction by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China.
